Alfa Romeo 8C Spider (329 built)
V 8                         4700 cm                         450 HP                         7000 RPM                         295 km/h

The 8C Competizione is powered by the Ferrari F136, a V8 engine with a 90º angle between the banks, derived from Ferrari-Maserati; Made of aluminum, it has a displacement of 4,691 cm³, the distribution is 4 valves per cylinder, driven by two camshafts per bank, develops a maximum power of 450 hp (331 kW) at 7,000 rpm and has a maximum torque of 470 N·m at 4,750 rpm, 80% of which is available already from 2,000 rpm.

The 8C Spider was officially presented (in unpublished white) at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2008, also this version was expected to be produced in a limited series of 500 units starting from 2009 but in the end only 329 were produced. To create the spider, the pavilion was eliminated and a canvas soft top was mounted in full respect of Alfa Romeo tradition. The fuel tank is moved to make room for the hood mechanism and the brakes become carbon-ceramic. For the rest, the spider version differs only in a few elements from the coupé version, it is equipped with the same 4.7-liter 32-valve V8 engine with 450 hp combined with the 6-speed robotized gearbox mounted on the same adequately reinforced and stiffened chassis. Due to these changes the weight increases and reaches 1,675 kg.
